Raising kidney disease awareness one step at a time

We're nearly a week away from Salisbury's Kidney Walk. The Walk was started to help raise awareness about kidney disease, but also ways to prevent, detect, and cure those on dialysis or awaiting kidney transplants.
For months local teams, like the team from Deer's Head Center, have been fundraising for this year's Kidney Walk to help out those that they care for everyday.
"Particularly we walk for the unit and our patients. We have a lot of patients that we take care of and we see them three times a week and dialysis so they become part of my family, part of our normalcy," says Christine Smith Cannon, a CRMP at Deer's Head.
The walk will be on Sunday, May 6th at the Winterplace Park at 10 a.m. You can register at Kidney Walk's website.
