PRMC Honors Donate Life Month with Flag Raising

It's National Donate Life Month, and on Tuesday PRMC celebrated the month by flying the Donate Life Flag on the Guerrieri Heart and Vascular Institute Flag Pole. The flag raising was meant to honor past, present, and future organ, eye, and tissue donors and donors in spirit. It was also used to raise awareness of the importance of becoming an organ donor, and to remind the public that more than 115,000 people are waiting nationally for a life saving organ.
"We know that transplants saves lives and the more people that donate the more organ donors there are the more transplants we can facilitate. We know that the gift of sight can let people see and cure blindness so these are way we feel we can give back to the community by supporting organ tissue and eye donation," said Chief Clinical Officer for the Living Legacy Foundation Debbi McRann.
Officials add that in Maryland alone more than 3,000 people are anxiously waiting for a second chance at life.
