Police: Couple arrested for stealing merchandise from Berlin Walmart

Delaware State Police have arrested a Wilmington couple in Georgetown after they were found to be in possession of a large amount of stolen merchandise.
On Wednesday, March 28th, Troopers stopped a vehicle for speeding, and that is when police say they discovered the stolen merchandise in the back seat of the couple's car which still had the anti-theft devices attached.
Officials say through further investigation, they learned the merchandise had been stolen from a Walmart in Berlin.
Police found that the couple, 23-year-old Detwon Banner, and 29-year-old Jaleesa Banner were linked to two prior shoplifting incidents at the same Walmart where more than 12,000 dollars worth of property had been stolen.
The duo was arrested and is being charged with receiving stolen property and conspiracy in the 2nd degree.
