Police ask for public’s help in 2017 homicide

"The more time that passes the more difficult it is to solve the crime."
Nearly a year has passed since Jaquonta Walton was murdered at the VFW on West Main Street in Salisbury, but since then police have had no luck finding who was behind it.
That's why they're releasing evidence now to the public with the hope someone comes forward.

"This is surveillance video that was obtained and police are really working hard to identify whomever may be in that red Hyundai Elantra as a person of interest. They believe the person driving that vehicle may have pertinent information that will help them crack this case," says Maryland State Police Spokesperson Elena Russo.
Leads have come and gone, but nothing has come of them. Leaving investigators scratching their heads as to who could have taken the life of a 20-year-old on June 10, 2017.
"At this point we really only know that the victim got into a private vehicle was driven to PRMC where he was just dropped off and then treated for the gun shot wound," says Russo.
Police say the person in the red Hyundai isn't a suspect, just a person of interest. And one that could help solve this case before the trail goes completely cold.
"Our investigators are looking for a few more minor pieces including who may be behind that wheel in that red vehicle to determine really what happened."
In order to bring justice to Walton's family, police are asking for not just information regarding the driver of the car, but anything relating to this case.
