Police: 85-year-old woman dead after Md. crash

An elderly woman died after police say she was injured during a Talbot County crash.
The Easton Police Department says on Monday, just after 4:00 PM, officers and emergency personnel were dispatched to Dover Road and Ocean Gateway for a reported vehicle crash.
According to the report, a 2001 Honda accord was exiting the parking lot of the US Food Store on Dover Road. Police say at that time, 61-year-old Rodney Spring, of Easton, was driving a 2018 GMC Yukon southbound on Dover Road after crossing US Rt. 50. Authorities say the 2018 GMC Yukon then collided with the car.
Authorities report that 85-year-old Melissa Taylor, of Easton, was identified as the driver of the Honda Accord. Officers say she was flown to R. Adams Crowley Shock Trauma Center, where she later died as a result the injuries she sustained in the crash.
Spring was apparently taken to University of Maryland Shore Medical Center for injuries. He was treated and released.
Maryland State Police and Talbot County paramedics also assisted in responding to the crash.
