Officials prepare for big health screening event

Bennett High School and PRMC were hard at work gearing up for Saturday's big event. Healthfest is back with 35 free health screenings and officials are preparing for upwards of a thousand participants.
Along with the health screenings will be therapy dog demonstrations, Zumba, and a Medivac fly-in by the Maryland State Police.
New to the event this year is specialized hernia screenings by PRMC surgeons. The purpose of the HealthFest is to educate members of the community about the current state of their health.
"We're not doing wholesale physicals like you get at a doctors office, but this is height, weight, body fat, vision, hearing," said Roger Follebout with PRMC community relations. "It's always good to know what's going on in particular with your height, your weight, your body fat, because all of those are contributing factors to other things that can create some real problems in your life if you don't take care of those things now."
Officials want to stress that this is not a replacement for your annual physical. The event takes place from 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM Saturday at Bennett High School in Salisbury.
