Ocean City bills impacting distilling and special events zones signed into law

Among the 207 bills Governor Larry Hogan signed Tuesday, two that would specifically impact Ocean City
Introduced by Senator Jim Mathias, one provides an economic boost for a hometown Ocean City distillery the other cracks down on reckless driving during special events like Cruisin.
Senate Bill 384, doubles the cap on how much liquor a Class 9 distillery is allowed to keep on the premises this bill focused particularly on the distillery, Seacrets.
We are told that this bill will also allow for more capital investment, job creation and will help tourism.
The other bill, Senate Bill 872 otherwise known as the special events zone legislation lowers the speeding limits in certain areas and increases the penalty for traffic violations with fines up to a thousand dollars. This bill was considered "emergency legislation" which means it goes into effect immediately.
