Cambridge Marketplace opens main entrance

Things are still going as planned for the Cambridge Marketplace. Doors opened there just one week ago.

We met with the City Planner on Monday who said the project is still scheduled to be complete by the year 2022, however, they're still not sure what will go in place of the grocery store that pulled out of the project.

We're told it is up to the Shore Regional Health Hospital since they will be taking over that property.

Some things that are already up and running include a new fast food restaurant.

Pat Escher, the Cambridge City Planner said, "Well Cambridge Marketplace, the Taco Bell has opened and along with that we now have the main entrance open and we've issued building permits for the Starbucks so where the existing KFC is, that's going to be converted into a Starbucks."

A chick-fil-a is also expected to be added to the area.

An official grand opening celebration for the marketplace is currently being planned but there is no official date set yet.
