Caesar Rodney School District starting to see changes through referendum projects

Caesar Rodney's referendum got the green light back in 2015 and now the district is starting to see some changes.

They've already finished adding classrooms to their McIlvaine Early Childhood Center and the district still needs to add on a new elementary school.

But the construction doesn't stop there. Caesar Rodney High School is adding a 9th grade academy by putting in another wing. It will provide 30 classrooms and provide additional programming.

Their superintendent, Dr. Kevin Fitzgerald, says, "One of the toughest transitions to make from 8th grade to 9th grade. So if we can smooth that transition and provide students with the extra support needed to be successful in high school, then we know they are going to graduate and they are going to be successful after they graduate."

They plan to add two new turf fields at the high school and tell us they want everything done by 2020.

As for their other schools, they are making major repairs and increasing safety measures. They are doing that by adding new cameras and improving lock and safety mechanisms.
