8-year-old girl plans Earth Day activities in Salisbury

While thousands across the country celebrate Earth Day and participate in various activities to support the environment, Salisbury is just one of the many cities showing some pride for mother nature.

Children were doing some crafts at Farmers and Planters Too and the event was actually organized by 8-year-old Irie Stefanik. She said she loves Earth Day and and wanted to do several activities to raise awareness.

"Well you can do a lot for the environment for Earth Day and you get to plant trees and stuff, so it's really fun. We're just doing crafts, I came up with this bird feeder you take a pine cone and cover it with peanut butter and put bird food around it and you can put it in your tree at home."

Some other tips for Earth Day, you can opt out of using shopping bags, you can either walk or bike, or even go strawless.
