United States Secret Service employee arrested on child pornography charges in Caroline Co.

A Caroline County man is facing charges after police say they confirmed a report of child pornography being uploaded on the internet.
Maryland State Police say on Tuesday, around 7:30 PM, 52-year-old Jeffrey Litteral, of Denton, was arrested near his home on the charges of possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, possession of obscene material, and distribution of obscene material.
According to MSP, an investigation began when a Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division investigator received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about possible child pornography being uploaded on the internet. Authorities confirmed that the material was child pornography and initiated the investigation.
Law enforcement reports that the investigation led to the identification of Litteral, a United States Secret Service employee. Police say the United state Secret Service was notified during the investigation, and they assisted the Maryland State Police during the investigation and arrest.
According to the Associated Press (AP), a statement by the U.S. Secret Service says Litteral's security clearance has been suspended and he's been placed on administrative leave.
Troopers say a search warrant was served during the arrest at Litteral's home, on Tuesday. Authorities say they recovered electronic equipment that will be forensically examined.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
The 52-year-old was held without bond.
