SHA on track to finish OC median by Memorial Day

If you've been in Ocean City at any point the last couple of months, you may have noticed quite a few road crews.
That's because Maryland SHA is working on putting in completely new median fences from Convention Center Drive all the way to 62nd Street.
It's a project that may have caused some headaches for drivers, but it's a project that's sole purpose is to increase pedestrian safety in OC.
Right now they're on track to finish by Memorial Day weekend, but all that work will take a three day vacation this weekend.
"We're pulling everything off so all lane closures will be completely open, all of our construction equipment will be stabilized and taken care of in the median so Ocean City can have the successful parade," says Brett Deane, SHA Asst. District Engineer of Construction.
Pretty soon you'll start to see fences, shrubbery, and light posts coming in later this month as they start to finish up the project.
But for this weekend, enjoy the wide open lanes.
