Crisfield feeling effects from Nor’easter

Mother nature has been anything but kind this year. In just one week two Nor'easters have made their way to the Mid-Atlantic. One city on Delmarva that is feeling the effects is Crisfield.

"We have quite a bit of flooding in town," says Rick Pollitt, the Crisfield City Manager.

Flooded streets,  closed down roads, and knocked down garbage bins. These are all things Crisfield is working around the clock to take care of.

"We try to keep our drains clear as much as we can and then we have our public resources on call 24/7," says Pollitt.

However at times they can't beat mother nature.

"This one is kind of heavy," says Pollitt.

Valerie Usbern was hoping to escape the Nor'Easter weather making the trek from Philadelphia to Crisfield to visit. Unfortunately for her,  it seems she couldn't out run the rain.

"I wasn't expecting to come down here and having some high tide and wind,"says Usbern.

For locals like Scott Tier, this is just another wave of flooding that they have ride through.

"Crisfield is always been known on high tides to get flooded. I mean even a big heavy rain will flood the roads," says Tier.

The city says if residents are looking for a safe place to keep the car until the water recedes, they'll find that place at the parking lot in front of the former Carvel Hall.  We're told the gate to the parking lot will remain open as long as it is needed.
