Woman charged with assault after attacking with her purse

A Lewes woman is now facing assault charges after attacking a person at a gas pump with her purse in Milford.

Police say that on February 14th, 37-year old Wendy Jeffery was found assaulting the victim with her purse at the Shore Stop Valero Gas Station on Bay Road, in front of a child. The victim did have a minor injury-but did not seek medical treatment.

She was taken back to the Milford Police Department where she was charged with third degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. 

Jeffery was released on $1,000 unsecured bail with a no unlawful contact order between her and the victims.  She is set to appear in Kent County Family Court in the future.
