UPDATE: Several students taken to hospital after school bus, vehicle crash in Fruitland

A crash is under investigation after police say the incident involved a school bus and a car and it happened in front of Bennett Middle School.   

According to Wicomico County Public School officials,on Monday,  a car rear ended a Wicomico County school bus in front of Bennett Middle School. WCPS Director of Communications and Community Outreach says 30 students were on board the bus.

Fruitland Police say several students were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center  for observation. School officials say students who were not taken to the hospital were taken home by another school bus or their parents picked them up from the school. Parents of students on the bus were called and notified of the incident. 

The driver of the car is at fault for the incident, according to police.

Police are currently on scene of a crash after they say the incident involved a school bus and a vehicle at a school, in Fruitland.

The Fruitland Police Department says on Monday, around 3:30 PM, they responded to Bennett Middle School for an accident involving a school bus and vehicle. Authorities are currently on scene and investigating this incident.

It is not clear if there are any injuries at this time.
