Traffic Alert: U.S. 13/U.S. 50 Salisbury Bypass speed limit set to reduce due to ongoing roadwork

The speed limit is being reduced on a roadway after officials say it is necessary to protect everyone during ongoing roadwork, in Wicomico County.
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration reports that starting February 13, the work zone speed limit on the U.S. 13/U.S. 50 Salisbury Bypass will be reduced from 55 MPH to just 45 MPH for ongoing road work. Officials say the new speed limit will apply to both north and southbound directions throughout the bridge rehabilitation work zone.
Officials say remaining work includes setting steel beams and forming and pouring the concrete abutments, walls and bridge decks for the end sections of the southbound bridges over MD 346 (Old Ocean City Road), US 50 (Ocean Gateway) and MD 350 (Mt. Hermon Road).
According to transportation officials, reducing the speed limit is necessary to protect workers and motorists.
