Police: Suspects unsuccessful in getting property during Dover home invasion; investigation ongoing

A Dover home invasion remains under investigation after police say the armed suspects were unsuccessful in getting property from the victim.

The Dover Police Department says on Wednesday, just after 1:00 AM, officers responded to the unit block of Periwinkle Court for a home invasion. Police say a man reported that two unknown black men were armed with handguns, and they kicked in the victim's door and demanded property from him.

The suspects then reportedly fled the scene without any items.

Law enforcement says it was reported that the suspects were wearing masks to cover their faces.

This incident remains under investigation.
