Unruly traffic stop leads to firearm and drug seizure

A 24-year-old man is behind bars after an unruly traffic stop led to the seizure of firearms and marijuana on Monday morning in Dover. 

According to a press release–Delaware State Troopers stopped a 2003 Tan Chevrolet Malibu traveling westbound on Charles Polk Road near Rodney Village for an equipment violation. 

The driver and occupants included 24-year-old Caleb Ford of Frederica, 29-year-old Alicia Young of Dover, and 24-year-old Dasmen Fullman of Dover.

Police observed, in plain view, a sandwich bag containing 4.72 grams of marijuana.

Police say Fullman refused to step out of his vehicle and attempted to flee. While doing so, he dropped a 9mm loaded handgun along with another loaded magazine containing nine 9mm rounds on the ground.

All three were taken into custody. Fullman is now charged with Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony,  Possession of a Firearm/Ammunition by a person prohibited, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Resisting Arrest among other charges. He was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $45,000 dollar cash bond.

Ford and Young were both arrested for reasons unrelated to this incident and were not charged in this case.
