Scouts come together to help troops overseas

Teaching the next generation the importance of giving is definitely a priority, but when it comes to our military its essential.
That's part of the lesson being taught Saturday at Station 16 in Salisbury, where Delmar cub scouts teamed up with Operation We Care sending care packages to troops overseas.
The room was packed with donated non-perishable goods were sealed in boxes with messages for the deployed heroes.
We're told these youngsters like to send items like razors, deodorant, toothpaste, and other items that run out quickly, making sure soldiers have the essentials they need abroad while protecting our freedoms at home.
"They love doing it every year. They can't wait to do it, the parents get super excited about doing this. They think that it's a great idea to get them involved in showing them, to give back to the community, and give back to our military. We always want to give back to who needs it, and the military always needs a little extra," says Delmar Cub Master Kip Leitner.
This is the third year of the Cub Scouts partnership with Operation We Care. If you are interested in finding out more about the organization, go to operationwecare.org.
