Quantico man convicted in 2017 assault against wife

A man is facing over four decades in prison, after he was convicted for this role in an assault involving his wife and children, in Wicomico County.
The Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County says on Monday, 39-year-old Norman Joseph Fisher, of Quantico, was convicted of first degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, illegal possession of a firearm and related charges in the Circuit Court for Wicomico County. The charges stem for an incident that happened at Fisher's home on February 25, 2017.
On that day, Fisher pointed a rifle a his wife and threatened to kill her. The 39-year-old later put out his wife and the two minor children from the home in the middle of the night.
Authorities say the Wicomcio County Sheriff's Office surround Fisher's home in response to a 911 call which led to his arrests. Fisher was tased prior to his arrest during a struggle with deputies. Two guns were apparently found in the home along with various types of ammunition.
According to officials, the Quantico man was prohibited from owning any firearms as the result of prior conviction for second degree assault.
Fisher is facing up to 49 years in prison at sentencing. Sentencing was postponed to allow for a pre-sentence investigation.
