Over 30 explosives found, several live devices in Dorchester Co.; investigation ongoing

An incident remains under investigation, after authorities say over 30 explosives were found, in Dorchester County.
The Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal says on Tuesday, their bomb technicians were requested by the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack to determine the hazards associated with what was believed to be military ordnance discovered by a perso collecting recyclables in the 6700 block of Bobtown Road.
According to the report, a total of 38 grenades were recovered with nine being live devices. Nineteen devices reportedly had a fuse but no explosive filler and 10 inactive devices were also found. Authorities say the devices were hazardous and render safe procedures were conducted immediately at the scene.
In addition, officials say six devices were taken to a nearby county landfill where they were counter charged.
MSP, Dorchester County Sheriff's Office and the Hurlock Volunteer Fire Department assisted on the scene with traffic control and securing a perimeter as bomb technicians rendered safe multiple military grenades.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) was also requested to assist in the investigation.
No injuries or property damage was reported relating to this incident.
