Officials: Female bus driver rescues 22 children off bus after fire; cause under investigation

Officials say that a female bus driver rescued 22 children off of a bus, after a fire in Easton, on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Easton Fire Department, officials responded to Ratcliff Manor Lane at 3:10 PM, for the report of a bus fire.
Jerry Wolfe, the bus driver who has been driving for more than 10 years, was able to get all 22 children off of the bus without anyone being injured. The children were reportedly elementary school aged. The road was closed for about an hour.
Officials say that the blaze started in the engine department in the back of the bus. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Talbot County Public Schools posted on Twitter, "This afternoon T.C.P.S bus 312 caught on fire while on route. Thanks to the swift action taken by the driver, all students were safely evacuated from the bus and there were no injuries.
Parents have been contacted and all students are being driven home on a replacement bus. Many THANKS to the Easton Fire Dept. and Easton Police Department for their help in safely evacuating the students and getting them to the replacement bus during today's bus fire incident!"
