Man arrested in connection to Harrington home invasion; second suspect sought

Police are searching for a second suspect, after they say a man was arrested in connection to a home invasion and assault, in Harrington. 

The Harrington Police Department says on Monday, just before 9:00 PM, their officers and the Felton Police Department were dispatched to an apartment at Clarks Corner Apartments for a report of a domestic dispute in progress. Once on scene, police say they encountered 30-year-old Damarius Turnage, of Seaford, and victim still inside the apartment.

After further investigation, officers learned that Turnage and an unknown man knocked on the victim's door and forced entry , when the victim opened the door. According to the report, Turnage then began to strangle and assault the victim. During the assault, authorities say the unknown suspect took the victim's cell phone and fled the apartment. 

Turnage was arrested and found to have 10 baggies of heroin inside his clothing. Harrington PD says two small children were in the apartment during the incident. A computer check revealed that Mr. Turnage was court ordered to have no-contact with the victim due to a previous incident that occurred in May 2017.

The 30-year-old was charged with home invasion, strangulation, robbery second degree, subsequent offense of possess or consume a controlled substance, conspiracy second degree, criminal mischief under $1,000, unlawful imprisonment, assault third degree, breach of release and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Turnage was then turned over to the Sussex Correctional Institute in default of a $25,100 secured bond.

Law enforcement is searching for the second suspect involved in the incident.
