Local gym prepare for new members due to New Year’s resolution

One of the most popular New Year's resolutions is to lose weight and become healthier, which means gyms will soon see a lot of new faces. January is a busy time for the fitness industry, as millions of Americans flock, sometimes temporarily, to health clubs to try to shed excess pounds which they acquired over the holidays. Here on Delmarva, local gyms are excited and ready to welcome new members to help them reach their goals and get them to live a healthier lifestyle.

"We always kind of expect that new years is going to be a busier time for us. Everyone's always looking to better themselves and people are more mindful of what they're eating and how much they exercise. So we definitely see an increase of people utilizing the gym and memberships typically increase," said manager and owner of Olympia Fitness Center.

The gym will also be opening a Mind and Body Center later this month so that new members can also take yoga and pilates classes.
