Ellendale man charged in connection with two burglaries in Del.

A man is now in custody, after troopers say he was responsible for two burglaries in Ellendale.

Delaware State Police say on January 11, just after 11:00 PM, a man forced his way into the Delaware State Waste Authority facility located at 13870 S. Old State Road. Troopers say the suspect remained at the location for a short time before fleeing without removing any property.

According to the report, a man forced entry into the Exxon gas station located at 18005 block of Beach Highway, and stole eight packs of cigarettes and a lighter before fleeing the scene.

Working on information from an anonymous tip received via Delaware Crime Stoppers, Authorities report that they were able to identify the suspect as 48-year-old Carl Schuyler, of Ellendale. Troopers say Schuyler resisted their efforts to arrest him, when they responded to a home in the 18000 of Schuyler Drive. 

He was the taken into custody and charged with two counts of burglary third degree, two counts of criminal mischief, two counts of theft, and resisting arrest. The 48-year-old was turned over the the Sussex Correctional Institution on $9,200 cash only bond.
