Sussex Habitat struggling to find local affordable housing

Habitat for Humanity in Sussex County needs the community's help.
Habitat is one of the main resources for providing affordable housing for low-income families in the area, but due to higher prices they are having a hard time finding reasonable land.
Sussex Habitat relies heavily on donated lots and below-market properties to refurbish already existing homes while also building new ones.
Recently they have been focusing their efforts on downtown Seaford and Laurel, as well as Ellendale, but they are having trouble finding new places to continue their work.
"This is a call out to the community saying we really need your help, we need your help to find properties, to find land that can be turned around into affordable housing," explains Kevin Gilmore, executive director for Sussex Habitat.
If you would like to help out and donate or sell buildable land or a rehab-worthy home, go ahead and contact Sussex Habitat.
