Ocean City native returns for charity concert

A Stephen Decatur grad turned national recording artist made his annual trip home and helped a local charity in the process.

Jimmy Charles performed at the Dry Dock 28 in Ocean City to raise food and funds for Holy Savior St Mary's Star of the Sea.

Jimmy moved to Nashville eight years ago, but says he comes home every year to do a benefit concert in his Ocean City hometown.

He says Star of the Sea reached out saying they were in need of non-perishable food and funds to help with their food pantry which helps people in need in the area.

"I don't always get to come back as much I tour the nation.  In the national spokesperson for Zero Cancer, which is a national prostate cancer organization, so I do about twelve cities a year, but every time I come back to my hometown I always want to do something that my hometown needs.  And I'll always continue to do that.  So for the past six years I've always done something special for the hometown and this is what they needed this year."
