OC looks to change parking meter system

Ocean City is looking to change up their current parking meter system. Salisbury just shifted to pay-by-plate meters and Ocean City is looking to do the same.
Right now the town has a pay-by-display type of meter, where people have to walk back to their car after paying for a ticket.
The new system would have drivers just put in the license plate number with no need to go back to their cars.
City leaders say a new system would be a win-win for drivers and the town.
"For one it doesn't require you to go back to your car and display any type of printed out ticket. That presents a problem for our enforcement officers in a sense that they have to take time to find where the ticket is and sometimes it falls off the dashboard," says Jessica Waters, OC PIO.
The town council will vote on whether or not to approve these parking meters during their meeting on December 12th. It would cost about $600,000 to install the new system.
