Millsboro PD raises money to give local kids Christmas presents

A community fundraising effort spearheaded by the police department is almost complete. Officers raised nearly $3000 from their Whiskers For Wishes campaign. 

It's an effort to provide Christmas to needy families in Millsboro. With the money raised Grace United Methodist Church will go out and buy presents for eight families in Millsboro. 

it touches everyone from business to community leaders to churches to schools to the actual residents I think it's a win win for all concerned," explains Dawn Zimmerman, director of Family Ministries.  

After the presents are bought, Santa and Millsboro PD will hand deliver the Christmas gifts on December 23rd. 

Grace Methodist says they hope this will be a tradition for years to come.
