Lottery Fever

With Powerball and Mega-Million having their jackpot over $300 million, people are flocking to stores to play.

Lottery fever is officially upon us. Both Powerball and Mega-Millions have their jackpot over $300 million and people are rushing to grab a ticket to play.

"I need it like ASAP like yesterday," said Shawn Wodford-Bey, a Salisbury local.

Mega-Millions has had 21 straight drawings without a jackpot winner since October when they changed the price from $1 to $2 and allowed different numbers to be played. The next drawing will be Friday night and store owners say they've seen roughly 200 people a day coming in to buy a ticket.

"They are still going for it. I guess they want that money man," said P.K. Amin, owner of Wetcher Whistle in Salisbury. "As soon as it goes up people going to buy the tickets."

Those like Wayne Wilson, who has been playing Powerball for most of his life, says if he wins they already know what they'd do with their winnings.

"If I won I would take care of my family, church and take a long a vacation," said Wilson.

If no one wins the jackpot Friday for Mega-Millions, the next drawing on Tuesday is expected to have a top-ten jackpot.
