Local coffee shop pays it forward with Christmas event

A local coffee shop got into the holiday spirit on Sunday. Santa Claus paid a visit to the Pemberton Coffee House in Salisbury to take pictures with the community.

The coffee shop teamed up with a local non-profit, Brooke's Closet, for this event.

If a family came in with a donation for the non-profit like a toy or book, their donations would translate to 40% off their pictures with Santa.

The coffee shop's owner, Mimi Gedamu, said the event is a way to give back to the community. She said, "So we wanted to do something in line with the motive of our organization, our business was reestablished with the purpose of helping the community and we thought that Brooke's Closet would be a great opportunity to give back."

Brooke's Closet aims to provide children in the hospital with a toy to brighten their day.
