Local Boys & Girls Club receives hundred of donated coats

"Being warm is not something a child should have to worry about."
And thanks to donated winter coats hundreds of Delaware families won't have to.
Piles and piles of them showing up at Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club in Seaford Wednesday.
Coats that might as well be brand-new with Peninsula Dry Cleaning's help and generously donated by Delmarva residents for the local community, all through our Keeping Warm On the Shore coat drive.
It's an effort to keep everyone warm this winter.
"On a day like today when it's freezing cold out the impact is going to be tremendous for them to have a coat. Just to increase their self esteem, to be able to go outdoors and be able to enjoy the space is such a tremendous impact for our families," explains Chris Couch, the executive director for Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club.
These warm winter coats aren't just going to families in Seaford but to families in Kent and Sussex counties too.
"We will be able to distribute these to families that are in the most need."
Giving families one less thing to worry about this holiday season.
"Taking that burden off of the family is going to be very important to them so they can focus on other things. Putting food on the table, making sure that their kids have great opportunities to do other things," explains Couch.
Now believe it or not, there's still more donated coats that are waiting to be distributed.
A successful initiative that couldn't have been possible without our partners McCready Hospital and Peninsula Dry Cleaning.
