Allen Harim moving its headquarters to Millsboro

After almost 100 years in Seaford, Allen Harim is relocating their headquarters to Millsboro.
It's a change the company says makes the most sense so that they will be more centrally located to many of their operations taking place in Harbeson and Dagsboro.
To create their new headquarters, Allen Harim is renovating a 460,000-square-foot former pickle plant near Millsboro.
In addition to housing the 50 employees that are currently stationed at the headquarters, it will also house a deboning operation.
The company says the new operation will open up about 165 new jobs. Meanwhile those working at the hatchery in Seaford, will be joining operations at their Dagsboro hatchery.
As for the future of the current headquarters, that is still unknown.
"We have met with the mayor, with town officials and we've sort of tried to open a dialogue and say 'what can we do with this location, is there any great uses?' This is a great location so we're open to suggestions and ideas and we'll see what happens," says Kathy Bassett from Allen Harim.
The company says there is still a lot of hoops and hurdles that need to made before everything is set and stone.
They are hoping to start operations at their new Millsboro plant in the next year.
