Wicomico Sheriff’s Office to introduce body cameras

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office recently announced that they will be starting a Body Worn Camera Pilot Program.
Officials said on Thursday, that the program aims to help personnel with practicing deputy safety and evidence integrity, while strengthening the community's relationship through trust and transparency.
In July of 2015, state legislation passed a bill allowing law enforcement agencies to develop and implement Body Worn Camera Pilot Programs so that police officers could begin wearing the recording devices.
Officials with the Wicomico Sheriff's Office want to ensure that the new program will be a part of their continued dedication in serving the citizens of Wicomico County.
