UPDATE: Six former JTVCC inmates enter not guilty pleas for alleged roles in 2017 prison riot

Officials say six of the 18 inmates allegedly involved in a 2017 prison riot have pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, in Delaware.
The Office of the Delaware Attorney General says on Tuesday, that six former James T. Vaughn Correctional Center inmates pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from their alleged roles in the February 2017 prison riot, in Smyrna. The incident apparently resulted in the death of Lieutenant Steven Floyd, injuries to Correctional Officers Winslow Smith and Joshua Wilkinson, and the kidnapping of counselor Patricia May.
According to officials, the six defendants were identified as 36-year-old Jarreau Ayers, 25-year-old Abednego Baynes, 28-year-old John Bramble, 27-year-old Kevin Berry, 52-year-old Royal Downs, and 28-year-old Deric Forney. The inmate are facing several charges including first degree murder, assault, kidnapping, and conspiracy.
Information about future court dates are not known at this time.
