UPDATE: Man surrenders after barricade situation in New Church

The Accomack County Sheriff's Office says that a man has been arrested after a barricade situation, earlier on Tuesday, in New Church, on Sign Post Road.

After nine hours of negotiation, 48-year-old Danny Charles Outten, surrendered to the Virginia State Police Tactical Team without incident, following a domestic situation.

Outten was taken to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital by the Accomack County Sheriff's Office for an evaluation.

Two warrants for obstruction of justice were also issued for Outten. Deputies were assisted by Virginia State Police and Virginia Marine Patrol.

Officials say that they are on the scene of a barricade situation after a reported domestic incident, in New Church, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Accomack County Sheriff's Office, at 8:32 AM on Tuesday, deputies received a report of a domestic incident on Sign Post Road, in New Church.

Upon deputies arrival, they learned that a male suspect reportedly barricaded himself inside of his home, and that he threatened to harm himself.

The Accomack County Sheriff's Office is being helped by the Virginia State Police. Authorities say that the public is not in danger.
