Salisbury comeback bid falls short versus Virginia Wesleyan

Salisbury University's men's basketball team moved to 2-1 on the season after a 80-77 loss at home against Virginia Wesleyan.

The Seagulls could never get ahead of the Marlins, who were up four at half. Salisbury was down two with under a minute to go, but Virginia Wesleyan was able to convert their free throws to hang on.

Johnson Ogunyoye led the way for SU on the inside, finishing with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. Al Leder and Chad Barcikowski motored the scoring for the Gulls, with 16 and 15 points apiece.

SU will take Thanksgiving to recoup and hit the road to take on conference rival Christoper Newport Wednesday the 29th.
