Man reportedly facing child pornography charges after search in Denton

A man is facing child pornography charges, after deputies they were assisted by federal investigators in finding child pornography files at a home, in Denton.

The Caroline County Sheriff's Office says in August 2017, they were contacted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in reference to online tips about a  Caroline County man being in possession of Child pornography. After a four month investigation, Detectives say they learned that 51-year-old Christopher Baier was receiving and sending video of child pornography to various individuals on the internet. According to the report, Baier was viewing, sending, and receiving child pornography files through a cloud storage service company.

Investigators report that search warrants were served on several communications companies where a large amount of child pornography was found in multiple accounts which were owned and maintained by Baier. On Monday, Deputies were assisted by the FBI and Maryland State Police in executing a search warrant at Baier's home,in Denton. According to the report, during the search, multiple electronic devices were found which stored a large amounts of child pornography.

The 51-year-old was arrested and charged with possessing child pornography and other related offenses. He is currently being held at the Caroline County Detention Center without bond. Officials say Baier was released on Tuesday, during a bail review.
