Local health department receives accreditation for behavioral program

The Wicomico County Health Department has received accreditation for their Behavioral Health Program.

CARF International (The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) awarded the program a three year status through October 31, 2020.

According to the CARF International report, Wicomico County Health Department shows pride in both the department's programs and progress in it's patients, as well as having caring and dedicated staff.

Programs under the accreditation are :

• Outpatient Mental Health Center
• Outpatient Substance Abuse Program
• Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program for children, adolescents and adults

The Behavioral Health Program serves 2,000 patients annually.
