Kathleen McLain honored for community involvement

Kathleen McLain, 47 ABC's General Manager, was honored Wednesday night at a Delmarva Discovery Center event for her work in giving back to the community.

Maryland Delegates presented her with multiple Citations on behalf of the State.

McLain is an Eastern Shore native, originally from Ridgely, Maryland. She's been with the station for over 20 years and works with several charitable organizations in the area.

Paraphrasing Mohammad Ali she says, "Public service is what you do to pay the rent for the space we take up on earth."

"Everybody has something they care about, and there's some little way that you can get started.  A service club costs money to belong to, not everybody is ready to join a service club. But there's a lot of things you can volunteer and do where you have an interest. And that's what people should do, follow up and help the community in areas they care about," McLain said.
