DSP: Family fights suspect in Millsboro home invasion; suspect sought

Authorities are searching for a suspect, after they say a family was involved in a fight with the suspect after he invaded their home, in Millsboro.
Delaware State Police say on Thursday, around 7:00 PM, troopers responded to the 27000 block of Devon Drive for a reported home invasion, in the River Winds Development. According to the report, an unknown suspect forced his way into the home, and immediately demanded money from a 32-year-old woman in a confrontation inside home.
During the confrontation, troopers say the suspect tried to grab the woman by the neck. At that point, the woman was able to run to the back bedroom to tell her husband and five children. The husband was then reportedly involved in a scuffle with the suspect in the hallway. Authorities say the suspect smacked and punched the man on the left side of his face. According to DSP, another male victim, a 21-year-old, tried to intervene during the altercation. All three individuals then began fighting.
Law enforcement says during the scuffle, the suspect was able to get the 21-year-old victim's cell phone before exiting the front door. The suspect reportedly ran towards Oak Orchard Road as he fled the scene.
Authorities describe the suspect as a man standing 5'10" to 6'0" tall, approximately 35 – 40-years-old, heavy set, and wearing dark colored clothing.
The three adult victims and the five children, ages 9-years-old to less than a year old, apparently did not request medical assistance.
