UPDATE: Victim identified after fatal head-on crash in Lewes

Authorities say they have identified a 40-year-old man who died after being involved in a fatal two vehicle crash, in Lewes.

Delaware State Police say 40-year-old Thomas Frederick, of Lewes, was identified as the driver of the Toyota pickup truck involved in the fatal head-on crash, in Lewes.

According to authorities, on Monday, around 1:19 PM, Frederick was involved in a fatal crash that happened in the left northbound lane on Coastal Highway (SR1), just south of Dartmouth Drive. DSP reports that for undetermined reasons, the pick up truck driven by Frederick crossed the grass median into the southbound lanes, hitting a 2015 Chrysler 200 which was driven by a 25-year-old woman.

Frederick was removed from the scene and taken to Beebe Healthcare where he was apparently pronounced dead.

This incident remains under investigation by the DSP Collision Reconstruction team.
