$2.5 million has been donated to Salisbury University's Richard A Henson School of Technology.

That's courtesy of the Richard Henson Foundation.

The money will be used to create new initiatives for it's science and technology programs.

Programs that were made possible thanks to the foundations support for the past thirty years.

We're told nearly one million dollars of the gift will go towards increasing number of scholarships for Henson students.

"Some 500,000 will be used establish an undergraduate research funding that will allow more students to engage in research experiences. Another portion will be used to develop a new high performance computing library in Henson science hall which will benefit computer science majors and as well as students and faculty," says SU's President Janet Dudley-Eshbach.

Part of the donation will also be used to repair and replace equipment at the Henson Hall. We're also told new science and mathematics honors program is also being created.
