Police on scene of route 50 crash

Maryland State Police are currently on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash in Berlin, Maryland on westbound route 50 just before route 90 involving a combine farm vehicle.

According to a press release sent this evening, a 2008 Dodge truck struck the rear of the combine and caught on fire. The combine swerved into the other lane and struck a 2000 GMC truck.

Police say that the driver and sole occupant in the Dodge were transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries. The Driver and sole occupant of the 2000 GMC as well as operator of the combine were not injured.

Route 50 westbound closed and is being diverted onto Route 346. The State Highway Administration and Berlin Fire Police are also on scene.
