New reading corner at Wico. Co. Public Library honoring educator who served for 53 years

The Wicomico County Public Library is hoping to raise some funds in memory of an educator who served for 53 years.
Naomi Lee Powell passed away this year, but her friends are trying to live out her legacy.
Powell was a dedicated teacher and reading specialist.
In her honor, three Wicomico school system retirees, teamed up to create the Lee Powell Reading Corner Memorial.
This memorial will include a mural, comfy furniture, and Powell's favorite books to create a reading area at the downtown library.
They are hoping to raise $5,000 and to have the reading corner completed in the next few months.
