Keeping seniors safe for Halloween

Halloween is only a week away. One local company wants to make sure that seniors stay safe during this festive time.

The company is offering a special service just for seniors for the Halloween season.

According to the home care company, seeing people in costumes can be scary, in a bad way for those who suffer from dementia.

Aside from that, many older people have physical challenges and a helper can offer assistance with that.

"They could come and help shop for candy ahead of time. They could come and make sure the lights are on — on the front porch in the hallways and entryways. They can actually give out the candy. I think its really great that people don't portray that they are there alone."

The experts from Angels say its important to follow a few tips to stay safe including staying inside while handing out candy  and never letting trick-or-treaters inside.

Halloween Helpers are being offered for an hourly fee.
