Governor Hogan announces crime victim grants

Today the Hogan Administration announced that a nearly five million dollar grant would be given to crime victim programs in Maryland starting in the fiscal year of 2018

In a press release the administration says that a total of $4,757,000 will be distributed to 57 agencies and 27 organizations statewide.

The grants will fund activities supporting victims of domestic violence and other crimes, survivors of homicide, as well as crisis and legal services. These grants will also protect laws which benefit victims and witnesses of crime.

The money will be distributed to agencies and organizations within the following:

Domestic Violence Grant Program
Maryland Victims of Crime Fund
Survivors of Homicide
Domestic Violence Unit Pilot Program
Legal Services for Crime Victims Fund

In the press release Governor Larry Hogan states "Our administration is committed to ensuring the safety of all of our citizens, and this includes supporting victims of crime while holding offenders accountable for their actions. We will continue to use all of our available resources to ensure that victims are treated with dignity and have access to the quality services they need to heal."
