Friends needed at Berlin library

A local library wants you to be their "friend".
Friends of the Berlin Library is recruiting people interested in helping to raise money for the new library being built in the town.
The non-profit supports programs at the library but now that a brand new building is going up, they need help.
So they are asking people to become a "friend" and join for a small fee ranging from $10 to $50.
If you're not looking to sign up for the program, the library is offering alternatives.
Mugs are being sold for $10 and there are also collection bins placed around the area where you can put in your spare change.
Harriette Creter is a Friend of the Berlin Library and says there are so many things the new library will need.
"The county and the state have been very generous with providing us with the building materials and the land. But there are other incidentals that don't come into the budget items that need to be funded also. "
The proceeds raised from all the fundraiser efforts will go toward getting furniture and other items for the new library.
