Five men arrested in Delaware burglary ring

Five men were arrested, after Delaware and Maryland State Police say they were involved with a burglary ring, in Kent County.
The investigation, led by State Police in Delaware and Maryland, was launched three months ago for incidents that happened in Kent County, Smyrna, and Caroline County in Maryland.
The investigation revealed that 38-year-old Christopher Bacon, of Hartly, and 44-year-old Harry McKnight, of Henderson, MD, had committed a number of burglaries in the area. Investigators say the pair also enlisted the help of 22-year-old Vance Taylor, of Smyrna, 23-year-old Gerald Edmonds, of Philadelphia, PA, and 43-year-old Greg Grantland, of Smyrna, who are also charged.
When police went to arrest members of the group at a home in Smyrna, they apparently found two Mossberg shotguns, a Chinese SKS 47 rifle with scope and tripod, 112.65 grams of PCP, 10.42 grams of heroin, 5.13 grams of crack cocaine, 13.23 grams of cocaine, several hundred rounds of 7.62 ammunition, numerous pills, and $2,579 in suspected drug money. Authorities report that the SKS 47 rifle, scope, and tripod were reported stolen in a burglary committed by Bacon, McKnight, and Grantland, near Hartly.
All five of the men mentioned in this story have been taken to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center. Investigators say they face a number of charges including of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance in a tier 2 quantity, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, conspiracy second degree, and theft.
