Easton man arrested for allegedly breaking into restaurant to steal alcohol

Police say that an Easton man was arrested for taking several bottles of alcohol from a restaurant on Sunday, October 15.

According to Easton Police, on Sunday, October 15, officers responded to Mason's Restaurant, on Harrison Street for a burglary. It was reported that sometime during the evening of October 14, a window was broken into to allow a suspect to get into the inside of the restaurant.

Interior security footage was found and showed 34-year-old Victor Manuel Gomez-Chilel, break the window, went into the business and then took several bottles of alchol before leaving the restaurant.

The security footage led to the identity of Gomez-Chilel of Easton, as the only suspect in the burglary. Gomez-Chilel was taken before the Talbot County District Court Commissioner last Friday, and he was ordered to be held on $15,000 bond on charges of second degree burglary, fourth degree burglary, fourth degree burglary of a storehouse, theft less than $1,000 and malicious destruction of property less than $1,000.
